- Eye-cream - regardless of your age, use an eye cream. Keeping the area hydrated helps with dark circles and wrinkles.
- To prevent smudging use a waterproof mascara.
- Peachy tones help brighten the skin, especially under the eyes.
- To get a pouty lip, use a gloss that is a shade or two lighter than your gloss and place in the center of your lips.
- Contouring - to contour your cheeks and nose use a shade a few shades darker than your foundation and shades the areas you want to contour. You can also use your bronzer.
- Mix your concealer with your eye cream to make it go on smoother and keep from getting dry.
- Sunscreen - Always wear sunscreen in addition to your skincare even if they contain an SPF. The doses found in products are less concentrated and for casual sun exposure.
- To get maximum coverage in problem areas apply your concealer after your foundation. It keeps the coverage concentrated and helps keep the area covered.
- For a softer eyeliner look, use a shadow to line the eyes.
- To smudge out your eye liner pencil you can go over it with a lining brush and it will create a softer line.

- Quick pick me up - Just dust your lids with a light color to open up your eyes, add some mascara to add some definition, put on some bronzer to give you some color and add a little lip gloss and go.
- Natural - For a natural look you can use earthy tones. You can start by adding a light color underneath your eyebrow, then sweep a medium shade across your lid and lastly blend a slightly darker shade subtly to your natural crease. Use a soft brown or taupe color to line your eye and then add some mascara. For your cheeks mix a bronzer with a soft color blush to give them a rosy glow. Line your lips with a neutral liner to give them some definition and top it with some gloss.
- Evening - to dress your look up for the evening you can choose colors that are rich in pigment. Try using a light color with some shimmer underneath your eyebrow and a medium shade to your lids and a deeper color to your crease. Add a little more than you would for the Natural look to give the eye more definition. Use a dark brown or black liner smudged across your lash line for a soft smokey line and then add a few coats of mascara. On your cheeks you can use a combination of a bronzer and a deeper blush on your cheek bones for color and try sweeping a shimmer across the top of your cheek bone to highlight. Lastly choose a lip liner and lipstick with some color and top it off with some gloss to complete the look.
- Smokey eyes - To achieve the smokey eye look you can take a deep blue, brown, black or grey and start sweeping it on your lid at you lash line. Use a brush to slowly blend it out up to your crease. It should be a gradual process fading as you get closer to your crease. You can then add a lighter highlighting color underneath your eye brow. When doing a smokey eye you don't want to over dramatize your other features so go light on the blush and use just enough to define your cheeks. A neutral lip liner and gloss is a great way to tie the look all together.
- THE AT HOME FACIAL
Step 1: Cleansing -Start with a mild cleanser to keep your pores clear this goes for both men and women. FYI: If you are using a product for the first time and you can feel it burning it may be a little too strong for your skin type.
Step 2: Exfoliate -To give your skin a healthy glow, exfoliate with a mild face scrub once a week to get the dead skin off the surface.
Step 3: Steam - Steaming your face helps open up your pores to clean them out. You can run the hot water in the sink and drape a towel over your head for as long as you can stand it …3 minutes is ideal.
Step 4: Toning - To close your pores back up you can follow your session with a slash of cold water or a toner.
Step 5: Moisturize - It is wise to invest in a good hydrating moisturizer with at least and SPF 15. If you are on the oily side invest in an oil-free moisturizer with an SPF. Just because you're oily doesn't mean you don't need to be hydrated. For all skin types make sure you use an eye cream.
- Don't do "paint by numbers" on your face and try to draw in unnatural features. Use what your parents gave you and enhance your best features.
- Blend-Blend-Blend - you should not be able to see where one color stops and the other starts. Instead use your brushes to blend them together so it's a subtle progression
- Branch out - tired of the same old look... try colors you normally wouldn't. It's easy to get caught up in the same old same old. Different colors can create a whole other look for you.
- Pimples - Trying to cover that little friend that came for a visit over night? Use your concealer over your foundation and dab it on and blend the edges keeping it concentrated where you want the coverage. Set it with powder to keep in place.
- Primer - Using a foundation primer helps make the foundation go on smoother and last longer.
- Practice and try new products - the more familiar you become with your face and products the better the results you will get when applying your makeup. You will learn what works for you.
